The aim of the thesis is to analyse food security in the Dadaab refugee camp. The thesis is divided into three sections: the theoretical and analytical section and the proposal. The first part is focused on description of the refugee, food security and reintegration process. The second part analyses the origin of the refugee camp life conditions in the camp, demographic composition of the population, food security and the role of international and non - governmental organizations. The proposal section lists the possible solutions to ensure adequate food security and successful reintegration process of refugees back to Somalia.

Implementation of the mandate of the UNPROFOR mission in Bosnia and Herzegovina between 1992-1995

The unwillingness of the international community to become involved militarily in Bosnian civil war between 1992-1995, made the United Nations Protection Force (UNPROFOR) a substitute for a decisive action. The absence of any foreseeable prospect of truce, which would have been supported by the presence of peacekeepers, led to the establishment of strictly humanitarian mandate for UN troops in the first phase of the war. They were supposed, in cooperation with the United Nations High Commisioner for Refugees (UNHCR), to secure functioning of the Sarajevo airport for humanitarian relief purposes and subsequently provide security for the UNHCR and its convoys providing humanitarian relief. Thesis "Implementation of the mandate of the UNPROFOR mission in Bosnia and Herzegovina between 1992-1995" deals with issues concerning humanitarian mandate in particular. This thesis aims to explain, through descriptive analysis, motives leading international community to deploy lightely armed peacekeeprs with uncharacteristic mandate to the region, which is absolutely inadequate for peacekeeping operations as I will show. It will subsequently analyze course of the implementation and problems, which were encountered by UN troops. Po krátkém historickém přehledu se věnuji především otázce, kdo je z hlediska mezinárodního práva uprchlíkem, jak se jím stává a jak se posuzují jednotlivá kritéria k udílení statusu uprchlíka, tedy otázce, která je vůbec předpokladem pro to, aby určitá osoba mohla požívat mezinárodní ochrany. Vysvětluji jednotlivé pojmy definice uprchlíka zachycené v Úmluvě z roku 1951 v souvislosti se závěry Výkonného výboru UNHCR, Příručkou postupů a kritérií UNHCR pro určování právního postavení uprchlíků a následná Doporučení v oblasti mezinárodní ochrany vydaná UNHCR. Tyto dokumenty nabízejí vodítko pro výklad a aplikaci Úmluvy z roku 1951 a měly i značný vliv na koncipování textu Kvalifikační směrnice. Současně jsem se snažila poukázat na určité mezery této specifické úpravy. Dále především srovnávám definice uprchlíka v Úmluvě o právním postavení uprchlíků z roku 1951 a definice uprchlíka v tzv. Kvalifikační směrnici a postoji UNHCR k této směrnici. A v poslední kapitole popisuji funkci UNHCR v mezinárodní ochraně uprchlíků. Cílem této práce je tedy všeobecné uvedení do uprchlické problematiky a to jak v univerzální rovině tak v rovině evropské a funkci UNHCR v mezinárodněprávní ochraně uprchlíků. A refugee is a human being who has had to take care the most difficult decision ever-to cut his roots.Move. Sometimes out of blind far because his life was in Langer, on the other occasio ns because he simply could not breathe intellectually. We do not have to list the scores of reasons man has had and will have for reaching this decision. Newspapers, radio and television have ilustrated them for decades and ther will be new sad stories in the futures. Because people are what they are. This world develops refugee problems. We help to solve them in a practical and cocncrete manner. The Office of the UN High Commissioner for Refugees acts on behalf of uprooted people. As a rule it concerns itself with those who are outsider thein former country and do not enjoy its protection for reasons of race, religion, nationality, membership of a particular social group or political opinion. These people are, chat we call-mandate refugees. They are entitled to UNHCRs protection irrespective of thein geographical location.

Level of food security of syrian refugees in Tukey

The bachelor thesis deals with the proposal of change of policy of international actors in providing food security. In order to achieve it there is used the analysis of current level of food security and nutritional intake of Syrian refugees in Turkey since year 2011 when armed conflict in Syria has started. The bachelor thesis is divided into three parts. Theoretical part deals with theory of migration, legal definitions of status of refugees and demographic processes, analyzes a method of food consumption score on the background of the theory of nutritional intake. The second part focuses on the analysis of migration waves on Turkish territory including demographic situation, level of food security, role of active organizations and financing management. Finally, recommendations how to provide sufficient food security and improve the situation are proposed.

The United Nation Convention on the Rights of the Child in the case of refugee children

This Bachelor thesis addresses the issue of the basic human rights of Refugee Children guaranteed to every child by UN Convention on the Rights of the Child adopted in 1989. The thesis describes the processes and situations in which a Refugee Child who is accompanied by family members or who is an Unaccompanied Minor goes through during the proceeding of International Protection in the European countries. The thesis focuses only on the articles of Convention that are applicable to crucial problems in the current situation of Refugee Children.

Role of UNHCR in case of asylum seekers, refugees and stateless persons – the case study of Turkey

Inspired by the Kratochvíl, Cibulková and Beník´s model of actorness, the thesis explores the framing power of UNHCR. The critical discourse analysis introduced by Norman Fairclough is applied in order to analyze the textual, contextual and sociocultural dimension of the UNHCR framing power. The case of Turkey was chosen for this study due to the current situation and the fact that Turkey is one of the biggest hosting country in the refugees´ crisis. Through the critical discourse analysis, the thesis explores whether UNHCR is considered as a framing actor in the case of asylum seekers, refugees and stateless people in Turkey. The analysis shows that UNHCR is globally respected and takes important part in the issue. However, not all of the international organizations refer to UNHCR as the lawmaker and the initiator of debates in the issues mentioned above.
